"I am asked many times a day - how do I get a habitat house. The answers lies with these two families, they have volunteered for over 15 years, have consistently managed their finances with minimal debt, and excellent credit. They have savings, maintained consistent employment with increasing incomes. Each have completed classes in homeownership while staying focused on their families and their core values. Habitat for Humanity is a hand up - not a handout. It is not a one size fits all answer to financial irresponsibility. Their is no quick fix! We capitalize on the resources and caring nature of our community and sell you a home at an affordable price. You must qualify for an affordable mortgage and make timely payments for your home, insurance, and property taxes. We will not sell you a home you cannot afford.
We will be releasing further information this fall on two three-bedroom homes that will be available in the Spring for two qualified families. In each case the homebuyer will make a volunteer commitment, attend homeownership classes, have a credit score of at least 630 with minimal debt, and consistent employment with the income necessary to qualify for a minimum $125,000 affordable mortgage. Thank you!"
